Stoat: Friend or Foe.
Understand, I’ve never been a spokesperson. I’m not a role model, I’m not a creative author, and I'm certainly controversial. However, what I really am, is a talker. I have a long history of doing so. My name is Stoat, you might know me from a lot of things but I'll fill you in on any missing pieces. I’m a troll. I like to think I'm a good one (Some might disagree). I’ve been a part of the community for 3 years causing mischief and mayhem. If you've ever spoken with me, you could probably expect me to be mean to you. You may be asking yourself, “Why would you do that?” Well to be frank, I hated all of you. I hated the culture, I hated the acts, I hated the animals. For a long time anyway. I have a long history so I wanted to share.
To start, I decided to join in November of 2022 and was greeted with a brand new little server. They had a hotdog as a server banner (A joke I didn't get till much later). I don't know what I really expected. That first day they gave me my name “Stoat” because my profile picture was the stoat from Inscryption (It was a clever reference to me being the secret villain). I had trolled servers before but most banned me in a week. So I laid low, and talked to the people. Tarro, Dogteeth, and Brass were the first people I met and I remember specifically because I liked them. Meeting them really made me feel bad about my initial intentions. However I trudged on. there were easy targets here and there. People are really gullible without tone tags. If there was a line in the early days, I somehow didn't cross it.
A couple months in I met Milk and later Vex and added them to people I like category. After those first couple months I think my mission to stifle the “Evil Zoophile Conspiracy” slowly disappeared. I still caused a lot of trouble, but the mission went from ruining these people to making them a little angry. I learned a lot, I had no idea Therians existed, there was more than one podcast, there was almost an underground railroad of meetups. In that, I related a lot. I'm not a zoophile, but I understand having to hide important pieces of yourself. What can I say, I have a heart!
After a year is when I realized that all my hate was gone. My mischief came from a place of positivity. I just wanted to make people laugh. An audience of zoos is really all I wanted. By this point I was helping Mods find doxxing attempts and masterminding conspiracies to annoy bad actors. In my own way I cared a lot about a group of people I never had any ties with. I used to think I was above all the discord server drama but when you spend enough time in it, I guess that changes. A lot of people talk about the anti zoo pipeline but I'd like to pose an alternate pipeline. The anti to ally pipeline.
Now in the present day my work as a troll is to build a better community. I’m not always the nicest. But I promise I'm always trying to make people better. What do I mean by this? Well, I’ve talked about people in the community that I liked because they're the reason I accepted it. The point of me writing this is to tell you the way an anti changes isn't by stickers, pickets, or twitter. They only change if they think you're cool. The anti to ally pipeline only works when a community exists to be cool and welcoming. I know it's hard to be nice to people who hate you but when has anyone made a friend by hiding in a closet? If an anti needs a friend, I don't think they'd say no to a zoo. I sure didn't. Trolls are lonely people, even me. I’m happy I found friends in these people. And if any Antis read this, talk with zoos. They're talented and fun people.
I've been Stoat, and while I'd love to take up the next two paragraphs with photos from my face collection, I'd like this article to have a point. Good day everyone, furries are cringe, tone tags are for losers, dogs are disgusting, and I'm hotter than anyone reading this.
